As both a member of this “there are many ways to God” society and as a therapist I am often hearing references to astrology, tarot card readings, channeling the “ancestors,” going to mediums to speak to deceased loved ones, setting up shrines with idols and images– all in the name of getting answers, clarity, hope or direction. In my prior work settings, given it was not a Christian counseling environment, I couldn't do much but smile and nod. But alas, I’m on my own turf now

I always chuckle inwardly when clients, specifically Christian clients, list their woes and issues and say how “mad at God” they are with all they’re going through or make comments like “Really Jesus?! I know you said you’d never give me more than I can bear, but can you lighten up? Haven’t I suffered enough?!”

I know that this blog is mostly appealing to Christians who may (should) already know the value of premarital counseling. But just in case this somehow lands in your hands and you’ve never heard of this before or question its merits, this one’s for you!
